Lambley Nursery and gardens is locted at Ascot, within half an hours pleasant and easy driving from Ballarat.
Lambley is operated by passionate plant's man David Glenn, with some artistic inspiration from his partner Chris Canning, an artist of esteem in her own right.
Inspiring display gardens are extensive and include a drought resistent garden, vegetable parterres, as well as fabulous areas filled with perennials, bulbs, roses and more, that vary through the seasons according to what plants are at their best.
At Lambley you will find a collection of plants second to none within the Ballarat region with a greater variety and colourful plant displays than even Ballarat's historic and glorious Botanic Gardens and the wonderful Digger's Club Garden of St Earth at Blackwood. All are worthy of a visit, but Lambley should top the list for inspiration and beauty, not to mention its easy access, even for those with limited mobility and fabulous nursery, staffed by knowledgable and enthusiastic plant's people, invariably more than willing to assist!
David Glenn also runs general and specialist tours at Lambley readily sharing his knowledge and expertise in great depth, to those who participate. He can usually be found within Lambley, hard at work or wandering the fruits of his labour and planting schemes, where he enthusiastically will show you plants in bloom he is particulary thrilled with.
I have been using Lambley as a resource for my own garden since the nursery first opened over a decade ago and have watched it develop from simply an excellent nursery where much of its stock is propagated on site, to also becoming one of the great gardens of the world.
Lambley has been featured on all of the major Australian television gardening programs and featured in magazines and newspapers. Lambley is increasingly attracting interest and has been featured in garden publications and television broadcasts around the world.
David Glenn's extraordinary knowledge and passion for plants has become an asset for gardeners far and wide. A visit to Lambley is a must, whether you are a local or from further afield. Yes, by all means visit Lambley to buy plants, but don't dismiss visiting simply to enjoy and find inspiration from David Glenn's magnificent gardens at Lambley.
