My darling moggie Mr Claude, always put one foot in his bowl when drinking, just to make sure his water was wet.
From the time he first came into my life, as a rescue boy, at about six months of age, Claude always enjoyed and was intrigued by water. This flies in the face of the myth that all cats hate water!
He willingly submitted to being placed ankle deep in the laundry trough on hot days, for a cooling sponge down.
Most days, Claude would follow me into the bathroom, sitting on the edge of the bath, if I had one and hopping in afterwards to play in the remnants of water.
More often still, he would follow after me into the shower, playing again, in any remnant water.
Claude's life ended at the ripe old age of eighteen. Shortly before his death, I realised I had better capture his "water testing, one foot in the bowl habit", lest I lose this wonderful memory of my extraordinary water-loving feline friend!
